1. Maui, Hawaii

It’s hard to not picture beaches when you think about Hawaii. With it’s pristine sandy shores and turquoise water, there’s no better place to go and relax than the island of Maui. 



Some of the most popular beaches on the island include Wailea Beach and Ka’anapali Beach with lots of places to stay, dine and play. If you’re looking for smaller, lower-key locations, Hookipa Beach Park and Napili Bay Beach make great choices to avoid heavy crowds.

2. Orange County, California

If you’re looking for some great beaches to catch some waves, Orange County in California offers many locations for surfers of all skill-levels. The surf culture is a significant part of this community with several shops and museums. 


Huntington Beach is one of the most well known surf spots in the country earning the official title of Surf City USA. Newport Beach, The Wedge, and Laguna Beach are also fantastic locations for not only surfing but catching some sunshine and experiencing the local culture.

3. Coney Island, New York

This historic location in New York City has been around for over 150 years. While it went through periods of growth and decline, the beach has remained an important part of the city. 



One of its most famous features is the Riegelmann Boardwalk. This 2.7 mile strip runs along the southern shore of the island and has been an icon of the city since 1923. It connects to several of the beaches amusement areas including Luna Park, New York Aquarium, Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park, and Maimonides Park.

Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and escape to a charming, remote island? Bald Head Island is the place to go for anyone looking to unwind and relax. 

The island is only accessible by ferry and has no cars, meaning a quiet getaway with just the sounds of the waves and ocean breeze. There are also a wide selection of activities to do including golf, boating, shopping and a spa.

5. Big Sur, California

If the thought of sitting in the sand under the sun all day doesn’t interest you, don’t cross a beach trip of your list just yet! Big Sur on the California coast offers scenic coastal views and stunning hidden coves. 


The water is too dangerous to swim in, but you can still roam the beaches and explore the tide pools at Pfeiffer Beach or search for sand dollars at Sand Dollar Beach. Andrew Molera State Park is also an excellent beach to visit that connects to beautiful trails and panoramic ocean views.
